Sol's lion

Soleil has always been fascinated by these lion statues that we pass by on our way to the grocery store. On our bike trip to Campion Trail, we decided to take her to meet the lions. She had a blast hugging them and roaring with them. River couldn't take all the excitement. He fell fast asleep in the trailer.

The love of reading

Bedtime has always been one of my favorite time with the kids. We all cuddle up after a bath to play airplane, massage, and read some books. It is so neat that River can now interact with the books now too. I just love these photos of my three favorite people sharing a book in bed. Soleil likes to read to River in her own bed too. Ah, the love of reading....

Haircut in a REAL salon

Soleil and I decided to walk to a salon across the street to get some back-to-school hair cuts. Soleil had only had her hair cut at home and at Robbie's Aunt Sherri's house. She was excited to go to a real salon with Mommy. I asked her if she wanted to watch me get my hair cut first, but NO! She wanted to go first! Jo was so great with her. She told her everything she was doing and asked her if she wanted the "Dora" cut. How could Sol say no? When she cut the bangs, she held the hair out in front of Sol's mouth and had her make a wish and blow the hair. She even got Princess sparkles sprayed in her hair when she was finished for being such a great client. I think the after photo shows what a great cut she got! She now loves to play "haircuts" and have us sit down in her chair as she brushes and cuts. She has us make wishes and tells us that if we are good we can get some princess sparkles.

Fun at the parks

We got River in the bike trailer for the first time and headed over to the local park. Soleil enjoys pretending that I the prince, and she the princess are getting married. Below is a picture of us riding on our horse back home after getting married. Her imagination amazes us. River was having fun hanging out with Daddy. He has been getting good at sitting up, but apparently not good enough, because right after Robbie took the picture in the tube, he tumbled out backwards!

Our little dancer

Soleil started dance lessons at the end of August. We knew that she would love them since she was dancing all around the house. She has always seemed to like to move to music even since she was itty-bitty. She has gone to three lessons so far. The first one she just watched everyone else and did not want to move at all. I peeked in to see that an older girl was trying to help her move her arms to the music, but Soleil was not happy the girl was touching her and made her arms stiff as a board. After class her teacher told me that she needed to work on sitting "Criss, cross, applesauce". Soleil knows how to do that, I guess she just wanted to observe the first class. The second class she did much better, sitting down, moving a little. Most of the other girls in the class were screaming and clawing to get out back to their parents. Since Sol has been in daycare I think she is a lot more mature than that. Robbie got to go with us to her last class. She was the star of the class! Everytime we peeked in, she was moving right along with the teacher. There will still other girls crying, but Sol just ignored them. After class Robbie went in to pick her up and the teacher told him that Soleil was a great leader. Start saving up your money now...her Broadway debut will be soon! :)
